About Chadiza - Chadiza Town Council

Who We Are

Chadiza District serves as the administrative heart of Chadiza District in Eastern Province, Zambia. The district, with a population of 111,069 people as of the 2022 census, is a place shaped by deep-rooted tradition and steady ambition.

Established in 1949, the Council operates as a full Local Authority under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. We are responsible for providing essential municipal services, supporting local development, and safeguarding the welfare of all residents across the district's wards.

From our Civic Centre on Pembamoyo Road, the Council coordinates infrastructure development, community services, and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), ensuring every investment speaks to the district's needs and long-term vision.

Agriculture: The Backbone of Chadiza District

Our Vision

A high-value, agriculture-driven district with improved living standards for all by 2030.

Our Location

Health Infrastructure in Chadiza

Chadiza is strategically positioned 35 km south of the Great East Road and approximately 80 km south-south-west of Chipata, the provincial capital. The district borders Mozambique to the south and Malawi to the east, with Katete District to the west and Chipata District to the north.

The town sits on a scenic plateau adorned with rocky hills, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and accessibility. This prime location makes Chadiza a gateway to Eastern Zambia and positions it perfectly between the middle Luangwa valley and the Zambezi.

Our Core Values

Integrity

Public resources must serve the public, not the privileged.

Accountability

Every kwacha must show its footprints.

Service Excellence

Results before excuses.

Transparency

The community has a right to know.
