Chadiza Town Council has purchased a 20000 litre water bowser to boost road construction and maintenance activities across the district. The equipment was procured using the 2025 Constituency Development Fund and will be used mainly for dust suppression and compaction during road formation, especially in remote and dry areas.
The bowser adds to the fleet of road equipment the Council has already bought in recent years, including a grader, tipper truck, compactor and TLB. Together, these machines are helping the Council carry out more road works in-house and reduce dependence on hired services.
Council Secretary Mr Mwansa Mumba D said the acquisition is part of a broader push to improve rural accessibility and service delivery.
“This water bowser will make a big difference in how we approach road works. It strengthens our capacity and allows us to move faster in delivering improved roads across the district,” said Mr Mumba.
Speaking on the development, Council Public Relations Officer Tinah Mkumba Phiri said the Council is determined to deliver visible results through the CDF.
“This is what development should look like. We are listening to our communities and responding with practical solutions. This bowser will help us build stronger, longer-lasting roads and improve access for our people,” she said.
The water bowser is expected to be deployed immediately to support works in areas where road grading and compaction are already underway. Residents in various wards have welcomed the development, saying it will make it easier to travel to markets, schools and health centres.
