Chadiza Town Council has started rehabilitating roads in Chanjowe Ward as part of a broader effort to improve road infrastructure across the district. The project falls under the Council’s plan to gravel at least 100 kilometers of roads, using funds from the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocated specifically for road maintenance fuel.
The initiative aims to enhance accessibility and boost economic activities by improving key transport routes within the district. To carry out the works, the Council is using heavy equipment procured through the CDF, including a grader, tipper truck, TLB, and compactor. Additionally, to strengthen its road maintenance capacity, the local authority plans to acquire a 20,000-liter water bowser this year.
“Good roads are essential for development and better service delivery in our communities,” said Council Secretary Mwansa Mumba D. “By rehabilitating roads in Chanjowe Ward, we are reaffirming our commitment to ensuring that residents have access to well-maintained roads that support transportation, trade, and essential services. This is just the beginning of our wider infrastructure development plan for Chadiza District.”
The road works in Chanjowe Ward mark a significant step in improving the district’s road network, with similar rehabilitation projects planned for other areas in the coming months.
