Chadiza Town Council conducted site visits on Thursday and Friday for four of the 14 approved community projects under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The inspections focused on locations where new Outpatient Departments (OPDs) with delivery rooms, water schemes, and ablution blocks will be constructed.
The council delegation together with interested local contractors visited Mwala in Manje ward, Kapachi ward, Chamaseche in Kampini ward, and Chafulu in Chamandala ward. These comprehensive healthcare facilities will transform medical service delivery in rural communities.
“These new OPDs will be complete medical facilities that address multiple community needs,” explained Council Secretary Mwansa Mumba D. “The inclusion of delivery rooms will ensure expectant mothers no longer need to travel long distances for maternal care. The water schemes will provide reliable clean water supply for medical procedures and general hygiene, while the ablution blocks will significantly improve sanitation at these facilities.”
“Through CDF, we have already transformed our district’s infrastructure capacity. We now have our own grader, TLB, compactor, and tipper truck for road works. The addition of a 20,000-liter water bowser this year will complete our construction fleet, enabling us to maintain and construct roads more efficiently,”.
The impact of CDF in Chadiza continues to grow, with previous allocations funding not only construction equipment but also the construction of a local radio station, which will soon receive broadcasting equipment. Health facilities across the district have been upgraded, and several schools have seen significant improvements.
The 2025 CDF package further builds on these achievements with additional projects including basic furniture for Kaluma, Chiyambi, Mangwe, and Kadzionele Health Posts, an ashpit and incinerator at Ngala Health Post, two new 1×3 classroom blocks at Madzaela and Kambvumo Primary Schools, and a water scheme and ablution block at Nsadzu Secondary School.
“CDF has revolutionized our ability to deliver development to our communities,” Mumba emphasized. “From healthcare and education to infrastructure development, we are seeing real transformation across Chadiza district.”
