Chadiza Town Council inducted new members into its Constituency Development Fund Committee (CDFC) yesterday, with Council Secretary Mumba David Mwansa emphasizing the critical role they will play in the district’s development over their two-and-a-half-year tenure.

During the welcome meeting, which was attended by Member of Parliament Jonathan Daka and District Commissioner Malan Zimba, Mwansa stressed the importance of objective decision-making in allocating the limited CDF resources.

“The needs of our people are vast, but the resources are not,” Mwansa told the incoming committee members. “You must ensure that every decision is objective, prioritizing projects and beneficiaries in the areas of loans, empowerment, community projects, and bursaries based on merit and need.”

The Council Secretary expressed confidence in the new committee’s ability to manage the development fund effectively, urging members to work collaboratively to ensure fair and impactful use of resources.

“The projects you choose to fund will determine whether Chadiza develops or not. Your legacy will be defined by the decisions you make during your tenure”

Both the Member of Parliament and District Commissioner serve on the CDFC by virtue of their positions and were present to welcome the new committee members.
