Chadiza Town Council has embarked on an extensive rehabilitation project targeting crossing points across the district, funded through the sector grant allocation from vehicle license fees collected by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA).

“We are implementing a dual approach to this infrastructure project,” explained Munaye Samampimbi, Director of Engineering at Chadiza Town Council. “The larger crossing points will be rehabilitated through full contracts to ensure durability, while smaller crossing points will use a labor-based approach where the Town Council provides materials and engages local residents for the work. This strategy allows us to maintain high standards for major crossings while creating employment opportunities within our communities.”

The rehabilitation project combines professional contracting for major infrastructure with community engagement for smaller projects. For the labor-based component, the Town Council will supply all construction materials through RTSA vehicle license revenue, creating temporary employment while upgrading essential infrastructure.

The project aims to enhance connectivity between communities and improve access to essential services across the district. Town Council officials expect the improved crossing points to facilitate safer travel and better movement of goods throughout Chadiza.
