Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Lewis Mwape yesterday  commended Moringa Farmers Association in Nsadzu Ward of Chadiza District  for their prudent use of the CDF loan, which has significantly transformed their farming activities.

Before receiving the 150,000 Kwacha loan from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the 14 members of the Moringa Farmers Association were struggling to support their families through pig farming. Despite their hard work and resourcefulness, they faced limitations due to a lack of financial support. However, everything changed when they accessed the CDF loan, which allowed them to shift from pig farming to rearing layers.

Today, the association has over 500 layers and supplies the people of Chadiza District with 14 trays of eggs daily, at 70 Kwacha per tray. While they may not yet be where they want to be, they are steadily working towards their goal of financial independence.

DPS Lewis Mwape praised the group’s determination and the positive impact of the CDF loan, highlighting that it is changing lives when used effectively. The Moringa Farmers Association’s story serves as a powerful reminder that with the right support and commitment, any group or individual can achieve success. The CDF is not just a financial aid; it is a life-changing tool that, when embraced, can bring communities closer to their dreams.
