Chadiza Town Council, in its commitment to foster economic growth and community empowerment, successfully conducted a Financial Literacy Training session today at Sankani Lodge. The training was specifically organized for the 28 successful applicants under the Youth, Women, and Community Empowerment component of the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
During his opening remarks, Acting Council Secretary, Mr. Howard Kalale, emphasized the importance of responsible financial management. He urged the successful applicants to view the empowerment loans not merely as personal financial aid but as part of a larger revolving fund designed to benefit future applicants as well.
“This financial literacy training is a crucial step taken by the Chadiza Town Council to ensure that our community members are well-equipped with the necessary skills to manage their finances effectively. The loans provided are not just for personal gain; they are meant to be a continuous source of support for individuals and communities in need,” stated Mr. Kalale.
The comprehensive training conducted by Indo Bank Zambia covered essential aspects of financial knowledge, including saving strategies, investment principles, and budgeting techniques. By imparting these skills, the Council aims to empower recipients to make informed and sustainable decisions in the management of their businesses.
The timing of the financial literacy training is strategic, taking place before the disbursement of funds to ensure that the beneficiaries are well-prepared to handle the financial responsibility that comes with the loans. This proactive approach aligns with the Council’s commitment to promoting responsible entrepreneurship and fostering a culture of financial prudence within the community.
Chadiza Town Council remains dedicated to creating an enabling environment for economic growth and prosperity. The Financial Literacy Training is a testament to the Council’s ongoing efforts to uplift and empower the residents of Chadiza.
